Light and color are elusive qualities, offering ever-changing patterns that vary with the movement of branches and shadows through the landscape, with the seasons, the time of day, and the weather. My work is about these patterns. I create collages by first hand painting tissue paper. I then builds layers of color and texture with oil paint and oil pastel along with the collaged paper, making shapes and designs that provide layers of color, light, and pattern. I sometimes accent these patterns with other media, such as colored pencil, watercolors, and neocolor sticks to add texture and line, visual moments for the eye to focus on.

At the same time, Roberta continued to make and sell her own art.
